Perl debugger in VSCODE

I've been trying to get Perl to work on VSCODE so I can practice and learn Perl.
However I cannot get the debugger to work:

I have attached an image what what happens when i run debug in vscode using the Gerald Richter extension.

Any help would be great!

I followed the steps in:

however i still am not able to get the debugger to work
